WTXF - Mario Lopez has been an actor, author, TV talk show host, radio talk show host, a Broadway star and even a reality competition competitor and host. Now he’s adding another title to his resume: TV musical star.
Lopez, per Variety, has joined the upcoming Fox live production of the beloved musical Grease, titled Grease Live. The former Saved by the Bell star will be playing Vince Fontaine, known to Grease fans as the host of an American Bandstand-like dance TV show for teenagers. Edd Byrnes played the part in the 1978 Grease movie,
Grease Live will star Aaron Tveit and Julianne Hough in the lead roles of Danny and Sunday, along with Vanessa Hudgeons as Rizzo, Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy and Kether Donohue as Jan.
Grease Live will air on Fox January 31, the Sunday night a week before the Super Bowl.
