Joe Jonas with his band DNCE perform at Waterloo Records' free SXSW day party

DNCE took the stage at Waterloo just after 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon and the SXSW crowd was loving it.  Joe Jonas' band DNCE was in rare form and helped pump some life into the muggy afternoon Austin air.

Jack Lawless kept perfect time as Cole Whittle and JinJoo Lee rocked out alongside the former Jonas Brother. (Technically still a 'Jonas Brother')

Today is Day 2 for the unofficial SXSW day party at Austin's Iconic Waterloo Records.

DNCE's hit "Cake by the Ocean" is a mainstay on top 40 radio. FOX 7 was lucky enough to get a little one-on-one time with the band and have a quick chat.

Like most SXSW performers the band is really excited to be in town for South by Southwest.  This is the first time DNCE has performed together as a band during the mega festival.

DNCE unanimously voted "Cake by the Ocean" their favorite song to perform live.

Joe Jonas' says that they are hitting up more than 50 cities for their summer tour with Selena Gomez.

One of those cities on their upcoming summer 2016 tour is Austin.  So if you missed out today you will be able to see the band June 17th, at the Frank Erwin Center.

For a complete list of tour dates visit the DNCE website.
