#InFocus: Pin-Up Photography

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF)- A woman is getting special photos taken for her husband with the help of a local photographer. FOX 29's Bill Rohrer shares her story.

For the last 11 years, photographer Celeste Giuliano works on getting the best out of her pin-up models.

"At first, I was a little nervous and a little awkward," said Denise Desiderio. "She just made it so comfortable and easy and we can laugh about the goofy faces I was making."

People travel all from all over the country just to have their picture taken by Celeste.

"Our clients are 99 percent every day women who are not used to posing in front of the camera. And have no experience in front of the camera and not as 1950's pin-up girls," said Celeste with Giuliano Photography.

Denise is getting her photos for her husband.

"We are crazy about each other. We have two kids, and sometimes you become sidetracked a little bit with your relationship. So it adds just a little extra fun--an extra element to our relationship, saying hey, I am thinking about you," she explained..

"Women will come in to pose for all different reasons. They will come in to have a photo of themselves, so when they are 90 years old they can look back and say, 'This is me as a pin-up. I look pretty amazing.' They will come in if they are getting married, to celebrate a birthday, if they have lost weight, if they battled cancer," said Celeste.

Celeste says the holidays are her busiest--booking a month or two in advance.

"I think why they are so popular it makes every women feel sexy and feel confident. You can step outside of the box for the day. You can be anything you want to be for the day and this gives women the chance to do that," Celeste explained.

For Denise the only thing left deciding where in the house her husband will place her photos.

"We are probably not going to have it in our living room, maybe his office. So he cannot forget about me while he is working during the day," she explained.
