New Jersey couple uses hormone replacement to spice things up

Cherry Hill, NJ (WTXF) -  A couple who has been married for 25 years has decided to  in order to spice things up.

Rose Ann Noll, a seventh grade teacher, and Andy Noll, a banker decided that their marriage needed a little something more.

To get that something, they decided to go to Dr. William Miller also known as “The Love Doctor”.

Dr. Miller runs a small practice called Varipel where he performs Bioidentical Hormone Replacement therapies.  These therapies are meant to rejuvenate people who have suffered lowering levels of estrogen and testosterone over the course of their lives. The hormone therapies have many effects, one of which is making patients more amorous.

Andy and Rose Ann Noll assured us they weren't always this frisky.

"There wasn't any magic there anymore and I just felt it," Rose Ann said.

The teacher and the banker had grown tired, heavier, irritable, uninterested, or plain.

You see it it's right in your face you have to admit it," Rose Ann told FOX 29's Joyce Evans. "I just won't accept the fact that there's no solution and this is the way it is."

She went searching for the way they were, or at least for some relief from her menopausal tortures.

What Rose Ann found was a decades old treatment is still controversial, but for some reason it's gaining in popularity in our area.

The procedure works through the use of pellets that are created to have the exact same molecular structure as the cells in the recipient’s body from yams and soybeans. These pellets are said to be unique to each person’s hormonal needs. The pellets can be administered in various forms that are both organic and synthetic.

This is not a new procedure. It is a process that has been around but has always been controversial but has recently been gaining popularity in the Philadelphia area. The process is not FDA approved for safety or effectiveness. In fact, Dr. Nicole Freehill, an OB/GYN, cautions patients to weigh the benefits and the possible risks of partaking in this therapy.

For the Noll’s, the possible risks were worth it. The couple claims that this procedure has done wonders for their marriage, and their health. Both parties claim that they are much more hands-on in their romantic relationship than they were before starting the hormone replacement therapy.

There are a number of doctors providing Hormone Replacement Therapy in our area. And new offices are scheduled to open soon, but you may just want to check in with your own doctor first.

We found the cost varies depending on what method is being used for what purpose and the frequency.
