ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35)
Orange County officials confirmed to WOFL FOX 35 a person died during a power outage from Hurricane Matthew.
Officials from the Medical Examiner's office said the death happened early Friday morning when the medical device a 70-year-old female was wearing failed during a power outage.
The victim's name is not being released at this time and she was at her home when it happened. Officials said she was not registered with Orange County's "People with Special Needs" program.
" A full investigation regarding this death will be conducted. We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends," said Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.
