1 killed, 3 injured in violent Center City shooting

Police are investigating an overnight incident that left one dead and three injured in Center City.

Around midnight on the corner of 22nd and Fitzwater Street, four people were shot.

One victim, a 28-year-old man, was shot in the upper back and wrist. He was transported to Temple University Hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Two other victims, a 19-year-old man and 26-year-old man, were also shot in the leg. Another victim, a 24-year-old man, was shot in the back. All three were transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, treated and released.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that the victims were at or near the intersection of 22nd and Fitzwater Streets when gunshots were fired from one or two vehicles, which then fled north on 22nd Street.

Police found 34 shell casings total at the scene. No arrests have been made and no motives listed at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
