1 of 2 cars stolen from dealership crash, kill 3 teens

- Three teens in Florida were killed early Sunday morning in a car crash in a stolen vehicle.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, deputies spotted two cars that were recently stolen from a Clearwater car dealership driving together.

"The vehicles were engaged in what I'll characterize as a 'cat and mouse game,'” Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said. “They were accelerating fast, slowing down, accelerating, slowing down. They got to Lake St. George and at the intersection on Tampa Road. The Sebring slowed down considerably. The Explorer sped up considerably, probably at speeds that exceed well over 100 miles per hour."

It ended up crashing into another car, going airborne, hitting several parked cars, rolled multiple times and caught fire. Three people inside -- ages 16, 16 and 14 -- were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another 14-year-old survived with unknown injuries.

An 18-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested in the second car.

Police say all have extensive criminal histories.
