3 Shot in Kensington Drive-By Shooting

- Philadelphia police say three people were injured in a drive-by shooting on the 2800 block of Boudinot Street in the city’s Kensington section.

Susalyn Marrero just moved onto the 2400 block of Boudinot Street two months ago and Monday was the second shooting just outside her front door. But this time, her 24-year-old son and 22-year-old female cousin were among the victims.

"I was upstairs with my little ones and I heard the gunshots, so I told my little ones to duck down on the floor,” she told FOX 29.

Moments later, her cousin came staggering into the house bleeding-- shot four times in the stomach.

"It looked bad. She was holding on to it. She had a hole in her stomach and holding on to it. My cousin called 911,” she explained.

Police say the three victims were sitting on the front stoop around 6 o'clock when a gold van pulled up to the house and unleashed a hail of bullets from an assault style weapon. At least 9 shots from 2 different guns were fired, according to police.

"One of the shooters was in a gold minivan. And the shooter was actually standing up and his upper body was coming out of a sunroof and he was firing an assault rifle in the direction of all 3 victims,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Police say the shooting happened in a street filled with people. Marrero says she's not sure why someone would target her son or cousin, but she does know she'll most likely be leaving the neighborhood as fast as she can.

All three victims will survive their injuries, according to police. Police say the shooting may have been captured on surveillance camera.
