ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a man lying between some railroad tracks was not injured after a New Jersey Transit train passed over him.
But he's now facing a charge of interfering with transportation following Saturday's incident in Elmwood Park.
It's not clear why the man was lying between the tracks or how long he had been there before the train went over him. But authorities say he appeared to be drunk and he was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
The man's name has not been released.
NJ Transit says the train had departed from Hoboken and was headed to Suffern, New York. No one aboard the train was injured, but it was delayed for nearly an hour while the incident was investigated.
