Christie calls for military response after nightclub attack

- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says Sunday's deadly attack at a gay nightclub in Orlando should prompt an overseas military response.

The Republican governor made the comments Tuesday on New York radio station WFAN. He says "radical Islamic terrorists are out to kill us" when he was asked to respond to the attack that left 49 people dead.

He says it's "unacceptable" and the country needs to fight back. Christie was limited on details of where the U.S. should attack.

The White House and the FBI said 29-year-old American-born Muslim Omar Mateen appears to be a "homegrown extremist" who committed the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Authorities say he had touted support for the Islamic State and other radical groups that are enemies of the U.S.
