#InFocus: Man Gets Pontiff Tattoo Ahead Of Pope's Visit

PHILADELPHIA--(WTXF)-A man made the pontiff a permanent part of his life. FOX 29’s Photojournalist Bill Rohrer has his story.

For Will Majors there is nothing like getting a new tattoo. His body is pretty much covered with tattoos.

“I want to say I have about 70-100 hours on all my body right now," he told FOX 29.

His new tattoo is a way to commemorate a special event.

“I was raised Roman Catholic,” Mayors explained. “It is just more than cheesesteaks and Mummers parades. It is community-- it’s culture.  It is pretty monumental that a figure like the Pope coming to this city.  I love this city and what better way to commemorate than getting a Pope tattoo.”

With the millions of people expected during the Pope’s visit later this month, Owner Tim Pangburn is hoping for more business.

“Some people are running specials on simple religious imagery and stuff like that.  Religious tattoos are incredibly popular,” said Pangburn.

The only problem for Tim is how he is getting into the city during the visit.

“There are going to be so many road closures so much traffic. If they don’t directly live in walking distance they are probably not coming in,” he explained.

The only problem for Majors is the pain from his new ink.

"I do not like getting my legs tattooed," Majors said. "Everybody is different how I take a tattoo how you receive one is completely different.
