PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The Virginia man accused of kidnapping a Philadelphia woman last November plead guilty in federal court Thursday.
Delvin Barnes, 37, plead guilty to kidnapping a 22-year-old woman off of the sidewalk on the night of November 2, 2014.
Surveillance cameras captured the incident, showing Barnes dragging the victim down the street and into his car. The victim fought back, striking Barnes in the head with a hammer once she was in the car.
Authorities say Barnes threatened to kill the woman if she did not stop fighting.
Barnes was taken into custody in Jessup, Maryland 3 days later, after making the drive with the victim bound by her wrists in the trunk of the car.
The victim was rescued and identified Barnes as the man that had abducted her.
Barnes sentencing hearing has been scheduled for January 6th 2016. He faces 35 years in prison.
