Chester, Pa. (WTXF) Police say a 6-year-old boy was wounded by a stray bullet in a shooting in Chester.
6-year-old James Wright was simply sitting outside with his friends Monday afternoon just after 4 p.m. when shots rang out at an apartment complex off 8th Street in Chester, according to neighbors.
Investigators say officers arrived on the scene and found numerous shell casings in separate locations. The mother of the victim informed police that her son and other kids were playing in front of the house when a male started shooting in their direction.
According to police, the boy was transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center and afterwards to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he is being treated for an injury sustained to his left index finger.
