2 men arrested on sex trafficking, child porn charges involving local girl

- Two suburban men are facing several charges, including that they lied to a local 15-year-old girl to lure her into sex -– and then taking and exchanging pictures and videos.

Authorities identified the suspects as Lawrence Jamieson, 57 of Malvern, who runs a construction company; and John Brown, 25 of Norristown, who works for a tire company.

The case started Aug. 1, when Willistown police got a report of child sexual abuse, and started investigating Jamieson and Brown.

They searched Jamieson’s home and found DVDs and thumb drives containing more than 50,000 images and videos, and say “One of the recovered images lists the name of a girl and a local high school.”

Then, they interviewed that girl and other people, and looked more closely at the electronic devices.

That’s when they learned Jamieson introduced the victim to Brown in 2015, when she was 15. They told her Brown was a 17-year-old cyber school student, but was 23 and “changed his appearance to look younger.” Police say they “had agreed on this cover story in order to lure the victim into a relationship.”

Later, “Jamieson and Brown then both began engaging in sexual activity with the victim. They took pictures and videos of this sexual activity, stored these electronic records, and exchanged them via text messages and email” at several local locations between 2015 and July, 2016.

They’re charged with sex trafficking in minors, sexual abuse of children for creating and possessing child pornography, sexual assault, conspiracy and related charges -– and they’re in the Chester County Prison after failing to post bond.

According to Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan, “This case shows the full developmental cycle of child predators. They start with possession of child pornography. They next move to creating and distributing child pornography. Finally, they take the ultimate step to sexually assaulting and even trafficking children. Each act is a link in the chain of misery that is child sexual abuse.”
