2 wounded in Queen Village self-defense shooting

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF)- Two men rushed to the hospital in critical condition following a shooting in Philadelphia's Queen Village neighborhood.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night along the 700 block of South 2nd Street.

Police say a 65-year-old man and his wife were walking their dog when they came across two men vandalizing the neighborhood. 

The man confronted the 65-year-old and began physically assaulting him. That's when police say the man, who had a license to carry, opened fire in self defense. 

A 21-year-old man was shot once in the neck and a 20-year-old man was shot once in the stomach. According to police, both men were transported to Jefferson Hospital where they are listed in critical condition.
