Suicidal man caused fatal crash; victim's friends speak out

Police say a man on a suicide mission purposefully drove his truck into a car, killing the driver and causing several other vehicles to crash.

The police report 18-year-old Keith Johnson decided to run a red light to "time it" so he would hit another car coming through the intersection.
 
Keith Johnson made his initial appearance in court.
 
Police say Johnson was depressed and he was driving, when he made a sudden decision.
 
This police report says as Keith Johnson drove west on Peoria over railroad tracks. He decided to keep on going through the light at Litchfield Road and cause an accident.
 
He wanted to cause an accident to kill himself, only he ended up killing someone else.
 
The victim was 46-year-old Margie Yaw-Mehlos of Surprise.
 
She was a social worker who helped other people make their way in troubled times.
 
Margie's friends say she has a son in high school and another of kindergarten age. 
 
She died because Johnson drove through a red light and T-boned her white Volkswagen.
 
Two other people were hurt in the crash, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
 
Johnson was not hurt and he faces charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
