21-year-old man charged in Ewing home invasion

Ewing, NJ (WTXF) Authorities say they have charged a 21-year-old man in connection with a home invasion in Ewing, New Jersey.

21-year-old Joseph Blanche, of Trenton, has been charged kidnapping (1st degree), robbery (1st degree), burglary (2nd degree), theft (3rd degree), criminal restraint (3rd degree), endangering an injured victim (3rd degree).

According to authorities, the investigation revealed that sometime overnight of March 29th, two males forced entry into the 92-year-old victim's residence ransacking the home while looking for items to steal. While in the residence, the suspects allegedly assaulted the victim causing serious injuries.

During the home invasion, the victim's car was taken, investigators say. That vehicle was recovered in Ewing by Ewing Police on March 30, 2016.

The victim was transported by Trenton EMS to Capital Health Medical Center for treatment.

Blanche was processed and transported to the Mercer County Correctional Center after he was unable to post bail which was set at $2,000,000 cash bail.
