(Inside Edition)-- A California Uber driver has been charged after he allegedly raped a drunken teenager who passed out in the back seat of his car, prosecutors said.
Samer Alaaeldin Mahran, 23, was later charged with rape by use of drugs, sexual penetration of a child over age 14 and unlawful sexual intercourse, according to court documents.
Mahran was reportedly supposed to drive the 17-year-old girl from a Huntington Beach bar to her Laguna Beach home in the predawn hours of Nov. 5, but at some point during the ride she passed out and he parked a couple blocks away from her home instead, according to a report.
Prosecutors said that Mahran then climbed into the backseat before “orally copulating and sexually assaulting” the teen who was too drunk to realize what was happening.
One of teen’s family members, who had ordered the ride for her, “grew concerned” when she didn’t arrive home at the expected time, prosecutors said.
Another family member then reportedly used the Uber application to track her ride and saw the teen was just a few blocks away so they relative walked to the parked car and allegedly saw the girl and Mahran in the backseat, according to court documents.
Mahran allegedly ran from the scene, leaving his car behind.
The victim’s relatives called police who identified Mahran using his description, license plate number and driver profile, according authorities.
He was arrested at his Huntington Beach apartment later that day.
