- All City of Philadelphia offices will be closed and City services curtailed Monday, December 26 (the day after Christmas) and Monday, January 2 (the day after New Year's Day) -- both City holidays.

Streets Commissioner Michael Carroll reminds residents that trash and recycling collections will not be collected on Monday, December 26 and Monday, January 2. City officials are asking all residents, whose normal collection is on Mondays, to place their rubbish and recycling out for collection on Tuesday, December 27 and Tuesday, January 3 during these upcoming winter holidays. During those holiday weeks, collections will be one day behind the normal schedule. Friday collections during those particular holiday weeks will be made Saturday.

All City District Health Centers are closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, as are all branch offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections; the North and Northeast Municipal Service Centers; the Marriage License Bureau; all Department of Recreation facilities; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations branch, at 9th and Filbert streets.

Municipal Court’s Arraignment Court at The Juanita Kidd Stout Center for Criminal Justice, 1301 Filbert St., will be open.
