Power restored to 24,000 customers after outage in Ocean County

- Authorities say 24,000 people lost power after an issue at the Oyster Creek substation in New Jersey.

Jersey Central Power & Light say a downed transmission line is presumed to be the cause. They are still working to find out how the transmission line came down. 

It happened around 6 p.m. and is effecting customers in Barnegat, Berkley, Lacey, and Ocean Township. 
 
Customers' power was restored by 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
 
Residents say that various traffic lights were also affected by the power outage.
