HOLMESBURG (WTXF) - Three men with guns got into a Philadelphia family's home, overnight, and among the items they stole were money, jewelry and Christmas gifts.
Police in Holmesburg say three armed men knocked on the victims’ door in the 4600 block of Oakmont Street just after 3:30am.
They told FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce the men stormed in, searched the home and took what they could.
Amber Gault lives at the home and said she was there when the robbery happened, along with four other adults and six children.
“They took all his money and everything,” Gault said “What am I supposed to do for my kids for Christmas?”
Police said the robbers stole jewelry and cash from a safe and Christmas presents for the family’s seven children.
Gault added, “It's so sad because my little ones believe in Santa.”
The woman admits her family has been in and out of trouble through the years and they were trying to get on their feet. While they don't know who was behind this brazen robbery, the victims don't think it was random, saying, “It had to be somebody we know, because how did they know we even had a safe in the house?”
Police say no one was physically hurt, but the victims tell us they're emotionally shaken and hurting for their children who many not have any gifts under the Christmas tree this year.
The gunmen were wearing all dark clothing. They got away out the front door. No arrests have been made.
