76-year-old New Jersey man faces child porn charges

A 76-year-old man is under arrest and will face child pornography charges.

Thursday, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato announced John Dalton of Eagleswood was busted when the Prosecutor's High Tech Crime Unit (HTCU) teamed up with the New Jersey State Police Tuckerton Station to stop child exploitation.

Authorities say the HTCU conducted proactive cyber monitoring that indicated "someone in Ocean County had downloaded images of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts."

HTCU detectives started a three-month investigation, which led to a search warrant at Dalton's home.

They say they found "several thousand videos and pornographic images of children engaged in sexual acts."

Dalton is charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.
