Cherry Hill, NJ (WTXF) For the second time in 2 weeks, a local church has been vandalized seemingly for attempting to organize a discussion of the impact of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill is hosting a forum Thursday entitled, 'Why Black Lives Matter in South Jersey.' To promote the forum they've posted banners and signs on their church grounds but each time they post them someone cuts them down and this time they damaged the wooden structure the signs were attached to.
The forum is scheduled to include representatives from the community, government and the police. And it's noteworthy that the congregation is 90% white and they feel the Black Lives matter movement shouldn't be dividing us by race.
Police reports have been filed and the investigation continues. The forum will also continue as scheduled as church reps tell FOX 29 the vandalism just reinforces how important the discussion really is.
