Alligator Captured on Georgia Beach

(STORYFUL) An alligator briefly closed the beach at the south end of Tybee Island in Georgia last week. The alligator was spotted Friday morning, June 17, and finally captured mid-afternoon. News reports said lifeguards on jet skis helped herd the animal closer to shore for the capture.

Alligators are not typically found in salt water - they don't have salt glands - but they do occasionally wander out of fresh water ponds and rivers along the coast.
