Alpharetta Officer Helps Kids with Bus Trouble

Alpharetta police saved the day for some middle school students heading to a debate competition. White smoke billowed from their school bus Saturday morning on Old Milton Parkway.

Police said the smoke was so bad it impeded traffic in other lanes.

A quick-thinking police officer came to the rescue and helped the KIPP Metro Atlanta students get off the bus and arrive at their debate competition despite all the bus problems.

Lt. Jim Little was the hero officer. Lt. Little pulled the bus over to safety and secured police cruiser rides for all the students on board to make sure they their debate competition.

Alpharetta police said they were happy to help.
