American Legion bikers help one just like them in need: The Boss

A group of bikers in New Jersey pulled over for a stranded motorcyclist. Little did they know, they were helping a local world-renowned superstar!

Friday, according to Freehold American Legion-Monmouth Post 54, members Dan Barkalow, Bob Grigs and their friend Ryan Bailey represented the group at the Veteran's Day ceremony at Holmdel's memorial.

After, they decided to take advantage of the beautiful day by riding to Manasquan before returning to Freehold.

On back roads, lead rider Dan noticed a broken down bike on the side of Allaire Road, near Allaire State Park.

The Legion Riders pulled over to help their fellow motorcyclist, who just happened to be Freehold native Bruce Springsteen!

The Boss couldn't get his bike started so he called for help, hopped on the back of Ryan's bike, and they drove to Mulligans in Farmingdale. One beer later, his ride arrived.

Dan called Bruce a very down-to-earth regular guy who fit right in with his fellow, not so famous, Freehold boys. Bruce took their names and numbers, so maybe they'll be riding together some day!

Springsteen, of course, was raised in Freehold.
