Amtrak delays caused by accident involving Amtrak employee

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- An accident involving an Amtrak employee in New Jersey caused delays along the busy Northeast Corridor.

Amtrak spokesman Craig Schulz says the tracks were closed for a short time between Trenton and Princeton Thursday morning after the employee was hit by an Amtrak vehicle on an access road adjacent to the tracks. Schulz says the employee did not sustained life-threatening injuries.

There were delays of up to 30 minutes for New Jersey Transit commuter trains that travel the line.

The accident is under investigation.
