Annual Harry Potter Festival taking over Chestnut Hill, Friday and Saturday

Harry Potter fans have a lot to look forward to.

Friday and Saturday, the Harry Potter Festival will magically morph the neighborhood into the much-loved fictional world created by author J.K. Rowling.

It'll be the free and family-friendly event's sixth annual enchanting weekend of wizardry and wonder.

Thousands of fans are expected to flock to film screenings, sorting hat demonstrations, a scavenger hunt and more.

Organizers say, "They'll have the chance to interact with characters from the beloved series, tap into the tastes of the Potter world with themed food and drinks, shop the most bewitching boutiques, cheer along with a game of Quidditch, participate in activities fit for muggles and wizards alike, dodge Dementors, and much more."

New this year, six blocks of Germantown Avenue (from Rex to Willow Grove Avenues) will be closed to vehicular traffic, creating a more festive, immersive and safe event mischief managed!
