ASU graduate passes out resumes on street corner

PHOENIX (FOX 10 KSAZ)- He's an Arizona State University graduate who graduated with a double major and a high GPA. He still can't find a job, or at least a good one.

Now a valley man is struggling with unemployment and is hitting the streets to find a job.

He spent his day out in the heat, handing out his resume on a street corner to anyone who would take it.

He's tired of working dead-end jobs and says his student loans are piling up, and he now wants to find a career. So far he's had no luck, so he decided to take to the streets hoping for that once in a lifetime opportunity.

"To be the best you have to be willing to do what the others aren't willing to do," said Matt Anthony.

Fueled by frustration 24-year-old Matt Anthony took to the streets to find work.

"I've come to the point in my life that I don't want a job, I want a true career," said Anthony.

For hours, Anthony paced back and forth on Camelback and 40th Street in the heat, armed with a handmade sign that reads resume.

He passed out his resume to anyone willing to give it a second look.

"The way I look at it is because of the hard work I'm putting in, I'm reaping other potential opportunities that a lot of my colleagues aren't going to be able to get," said Anthony.

Anthony graduated from ASU in 2013 with a double major in public policy and urban metropolitan studies.

"And I also got certifications in public administration, public management, leadership and ethics, and creative city planning," he said.

He's been without a full-time job for quite some time and is hoping that will end.

"I want to be able to have a family, I want to be able to have a house, I want to have the white picket fence and a little dog and the whole nine yards," said Anthony.
