Authorities investigate attempted robbery of PNC Bank branch and robbery of TD Bank

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the person responsible for the attempted robbery yesterday of the PNC Bank branch located at 19 South 52 nd Street, and the robbery yesterday of the TD Bank branch located at 3735 Walnut Street.

Authorities say shortly before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, the man entered the PNC Bank and showed a demand note to a teller. Soon thereafter, the subject fled the bank empty-handed, according to investigators.

Then, shortly before 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, he entered the TD Bank and showed a demand note to a teller. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the area of the bank, authorities say.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s-30s, approximately 5'9"-5'11" tall, medium to stocky build, with a scruffy black beard. He wore a fluorescent yellow reflective safety vest over a red long-sleeve shirt, black pants, black knit cap, white sneakers, clear safety glasses, and blue latex gloves.

This suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about these robberies or this subject is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There is a reward for information leading to this subject's capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
