Baby Jesus Stolen from Nativity Scene

BOISE, Idaho - (WAGA)The nativity is just a small part of a 50,000 light show puts on every night at The Journey Church in Boise. But the centerpiece of the nativity is missing.

Pastor Mike Boswell said he's not shedding a tear over the theft of the Baby Jesus statue that was part of their nativity scene.

"All of us know that Jesus is alive. He's not in a manger and that's why we celebrate Christmas and we just want the community to come out and celebrate with us," said Boswell.

he Jesus statue was precious, but the pastor and his church are choosing to turn the other cheek. They asked the community to come out and celebrate with the church despite the theft.

"God loves people, we love people, and we want people to find god through Jesus Christ," said Boswell.

The pastor said he even has a special message to whoever robbed their manger.

"Whoever may have taken it, we'd love to invite them to come. They don't have to admit it but come and join us and become part of us," said Boswell.

The church plans to continue on with their Christmas services and dinner.
