Berks County police investigating sex assault

A woman fought off a man who sexually assaulted her, and police are looking for the public's help to find the suspect, according to authorities.

The incident happened in Amity Township on a trail behind a baseball field near Rosewood and Lake Drives around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the victim was approached by a man on the trail who had been standing by a shed near the baseball field. According to investigators, suspect ran behind the woman after she ran onto the trail. She was able to fight him off by hitting the man on the right side of his face with a rock.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male possibly Hispanic, 40 years of age, wrinkled skin, and a scruffy beard and mustache, approximately 5' 4", dark long hair, long fingernails.

He was wearing a black "Mack" baseball cap, a black oversized thermal style long sleeve shirt with a front pocket on the left chest area, gray jeans and gray work boots.

He may be missing one or more front teeth and spoke with a lisp and accent.
