Boy who lost legs in 3rd-degree burn accident meets amputee therapy dog

A 10-year-old boy who lost his legs due to a severe burn accident got his wish when he met Chi Chi, a rescue dog who also lost her legs, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Owen Mahan was surprised with a visit to meet Chi Chi after seeing a video of the golden retriever online. Mahan flew from Pittsboro, Indiana, to spend the weekend with the dog. The two became fast friends.

Mahan suffered severe burns on 98 percent of his body after falling into a tub of scalding hot water when he was two. This year, he was forced to have both legs amputated.
