Bride Becomes 11th in Her Family to Wear Victorian Wedding Gown

Perkasie, PA. (INSIDE EDITION) Here comes the bride, all dressed in a very old dress.

Abby Kingston became the 11th member of her family to walk down the aisle in the Victorian gown and INSIDE EDITION was there to see it.

"Every mother wants their daughter to wear the wedding dress they wore. Because that was the supreme day of happiness," said mom Leslie Kingston.

The hand-sewn, floor-length heirloom was first worn by Abby's great-great grandmother Mary Lowry Warren in 1895 and was a sign of the then-times with billowing mutton sleeves, heavy lace and a tiny, cinched waist only made possible by a corset.

Over the years, it has been added to, and cut down and has gone from having a high collar to having an off-the-shoulder neckline.

Abby and her mother worked with a tailor to restore portions of the dress that had rotted away and added new sleeves because the originals were little more than tattered rags.

It took 200 hours to redesign the frock.

But groom Jason Curtis only had eyes for his beloved as she walked toward him at the Lake House Inn in Perkasie, Pennsylvania.

"The bride is more beautiful than the dress and more beautiful than I could imagine," he said.

The beaming bride said, "I am so blessed to be wearing this wedding dress and be married to you. I couldn't be happier."
