Bridge back open after Irish Pub Tour de Shore

The Ben Franklin Bridge is back open after Sunday morning's Irish Pub Tour de Shore that raises money for the Irish Pub Children's Foundation.

The Tour de Shore is a 65-mile bicycle ride from the Irish Pub in Philadelphia to the Irish Pub in Atlantic City, and has been going on since back in 1988 - starting with 20 cyclists as part of the national MS society initiative Ugly Bartender contest.

The ride has since grown to more than 2,300 cyclists last year, raising $965,000 and more than $6 million since the beginning.

The IPCF says its goals are improving lives in Philadelphia and South Jersey by supporting first responders and their families killed or severely injured in the line of duty; improving relationships between law enforcement and the community; and encouraging children through education and recreation.
