Clean-up begins after undergound Center City fire

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) SkyFOX was over the scene of the 2100 block of Walnut Street where four buildings were evacuated due to an underground a fire Thursday afternoon.

Crews remain on scene Friday morning investigating the cause of the fire, while beginning clean-up.

Jennifer Cabrera was just getting ready for a Valentine's date with her boyfriend when she was evacuated by police with her dog Vader.

"I just started screaming grab whatever we could. Grabbed the dog, grabbed my passport grabbed my car keys, my purse and my champagne for tonight," she told FOX 29.

Many evacuees huddling inside a SEPTA bus as a temporary warming center. Others filling up a Rittenhouse Square bakery to keep warm.

PECO says they are investigating the cause. As of 10 p.m. Thursday, all residents were allowed back in their home; however, many are still without power.
