Cast of 'Hamilton' give message to Vice President-Elect Mike Pence

The cast of Hamilton had a message for Vice President-elect Mike Pence after he watched the show at Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York on Friday, November 18. Pence was booed by the audience.

Right before Pence left the theater, the cast thanked him for being in the audience and cast member Brandon Victor Dixon said they hoped the show inspired him.

"We sir, we are the diverse America, who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir" said Dixon.

"I would truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us," Dixon added, before saying Hamilton is an American story told by a "diverse group of colors, creeds and orientations."
