Cat banned from college library goes viral

A tabby cat named Max has caught the internet's attention after managing to become banned from a local college library.

The stealthy cat has been sneaking into the Macalester College library in St. Paul, Minnesota when students open the door and has been caught scampering around the bookshelves on more than one occasion.

The library put up a flier asking patrons, "Please do not let in the cat."

The incident has apparently moved the internet to create Max-inspired artwork.

One fan went so far as to create a library card for Max, who has been banned from the library over his naughty behavior.

One illustrator took it a step further, designing Max a second library card.

The college has since responded to Max's growing internet fame, tweeting:
