Carrying a backpack and pouring some type of liquid along the back of four newly constructed townhomes, cameras caught a shadowy figure light the latest suspicious fire and make a quick getaway.

"From the time they're pouring the accelerant or flammable liquid going across the back of the buildings and then running away. It's very, very fast," Gloucester Township Police Lt. Jason Gittens told FOX 29.

On Tuesday, police released surveillance video captured one week ago of a person of interest who has had an entire neighborhood on edge in Gloucester Township.

These are nerve-racking times here because this was the fourth arson at the New Iron Gate townhomes complex in 10 months. The fires have caused tens of thousands of dollars in damages to the townhomes and at least one neighbor's home.

Damage from the latest fire a week ago was relatively minor compared to the widespread damage done during a fire last September, an arson in November and a blaze back in January. That fire caused evacuations and so much damage, four townhomes had to be rebuilt.

Investigators have been interviewing neighbors and scouring the area looking to make an arrest. The question bothering neighbors and investigators is why?

"Not really sure on a motive right now. Right now, it's perplexing to us," Lt. Gittens said.

Police believe the person caught on camera strikes between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.. He's in his late teens or early 20s. He could be from the neighborhood near the fires. No one has been injured in the fires.
