Chester police are investigating their department's use of force after video surfaced online of an officer striking a young women during an arrest.

Officers responded to the 900 block of East 15th Street just after 5 p.m. on Saturday for a reported riot.

Officials say a party was taking place inside the home and that a few people arrived who were not known to the residents of the property. The unknown individuals allegedly attempted to enter the home, but were denied. One woman allegedly struck two of the home's residents.

Investigators say the residents locked the door, which the suspects then kicked down before entering. Several people were allegedly assaulted.

Officials say police were attempting to gain control of the situation when one police sergeant was struck by a 20-year-old woman. That woman, and three others, were taken into custody and charged with alcohol related offenses and aggravated assault.

Chester Police acknowledged a partial video circulating on social media which appears to show a police officer striking a young woman. The incident is under investigation.
