Crash, gas leak close Columbus Blvd. in both directions

Columbus Boulevard is now closed in both directions after a car hit a gas line at the Comcast building, causing a major leak.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley reports the gas has not yet been shut off and there is a strong smell of natural gas to the south of the leak, where he is. That's despite Weather Authority meteorologist Kathy Orr telling us the breeze is blowing from the southwest to the northeast.

Steve says police officers and fire department crews are staying back as PGW tries to cap the leak and shut off the gas.

The area closed to drivers is between Tasker Street and Washington Avenue, but there is traffic all over the area you'll want to avoid.
