DA: Woman charged in neighbor's death

Norristown, Pa.(WTXF) Authorities say they have made an arrest in connection with an attack of a man who later died from his injuries.

According to authorities, they arrested Elisabeth Anna Floyd, 34, for third-degree murder and other charges related to a September 21, 2015, attack on her 96-year-old neighbor, who later died from his injuries.

Police say shortly after 7:30 a.m. on September 21, 2015, East Norriton Police responded to the 500 block of Marion Avenue for a call of an injured person. Police found Alfred C. Payne lying on the driveway of his home with visible injuries, allegedly caused by Floyd, whom he hadn't met prior, according to investigators.

Payne's injuries, including a hip fracture, required surgery. Authorities say he was hospitalized following the incident, then in a long-term care facility until he died February 19, 2016. Following an autopsy and review of medical records, Payne's death was rule a homicide by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.

Floyd was arrested Friday and arraigned. A preliminary hearing is set for July 13.
