Delaware drug investigation leads to arrest of two men

Delaware State Police have arrested two men in Concord after a search of their vehicle uncovered numorous drugs.

According to officials, William Matthews, 28, was selling the drugs out of his car in both Seaford and Concord. Police say that Matthews had many outstanding warrants.

Authorities say that Matthews and Rayshawn Sheppard, 28, were taken into custody after exiting a store in Concord.

Matthews tried to flee on foot, but was detained after a brief pursuit. Sheppard was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of Matthews' vehicle, authorities say they found heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana and over $1,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

Both suspects were charged with 5 counts of various crimes. Separately, Matthews was charged with resisting arrest.

The men were arraigned and committed to the Sussex County Correctional Institution.
