Dog kills baby and leaves toddler seriously injured

INSIDE EDITION- Tragedy struck one family when a dog mauled a 4-month-old baby boy to death and left his toddler seriously injured.

4-month-old Archie Darby and his 22-month-old brother, Daniel-Jay Darby, of England, were attacked by the animal inside of a family friend's home, as their mom, Jade Rogers, tried to stop the dog, according to reports.

All three of them were transported to a hospital after the attack, where Archie died and Daniel-Jay was placed into the intensive care unit. Rogers was treated for minor injuries.

Rogers called little Archie an angel in a statement released in the aftermath of the infant's death.

"It doesn't seem real that our little Archie Bum has gone to heaven and our little Daniel is in intensive care because of a tragic, tragic incident involving a dog attack," said Rogers.

The dog, believed to be a Staffordshire bull terrier-type, has been put down with the consent of its owner, according to Metro.com.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to reports.

"Heaven has gained a beautiful little angel and he will be greatly missed by us all and our other little soldier is still fighting strong," Roger said.
