Dozens of cars damaged with windows smashed overnight

A lot of car owners have a lot of unexpected and expensive inconveniences on their hands.

Police on routine patrol in the 1800 block of Poplar Street noticed many cars' windows smashed after the sun came up, Wednesday morning.

The damage was done from Fairmount to Chinatown.

Other blocks hit were the 600 and 700 blocks of N. 25th Street, and the 2200 through 2500 blocks of Parrish Street.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley reports as many as 50 cars were vandalized, and police think the vandals drove by, firing BB guns from both sides of their car.

It seems this is just a case of vandalism because the windows were smashed just to do damage, and not to steal stuff from inside.

Each window could cost the owners hundreds of dollars to clean up and replace, plus a whole lot of inconvenience.

Police are still trying to determine how many cars were damaged.
