Woman charged for allegedly dragging Delaware State Trooper with SUV

Police have arrested a Delaware woman who they say is responsible for dragging a trooper several feet earlier this week.

Yira Graciano-Toala, 52, was detained on Friday and charged with multiple crimes including reckless endangerment, vehicular assault and reckless driving.

Reports indicate that the incident happened at the intersection of Kirkwood Highway and Farrand Drive in Wilmington on Monday afternoon.

Police say the trooper approached Graciano-Toala's SUV and was in the middle of a traffic stop when she took off and dragged the trooper several feet before he flew into a grass median.

The trooper is a 18-year veteran assigned to Troop 6. He was taken to Christiana Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Graciano-Toala was released on $15,600 bail.
