Elderly man charged with murder out of hospital, moved to jail

A 71-year-old man is now under arrest, accused of killing a 73-year-old man after an argument. It happened two days before Christmas in Abington.

Leroy Clark is charged with first-degree murder and related offenses, according to Police Chief William Kelly and Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele.

They said Clark shot Robert Duncan after an argument and drove off. Then, less than 15 minutes later, an Abington police officer stopped him and told him to show his hands and surrender, but he refused.

Instead, after several minutes, authorities said he shot himself in the chest and mouth.

Clark has been in hospitals ever since.

Monday, he was arrested and arraigned. Bail was denied, and he was sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing is set for May 20.
