Fairmount and Old City enjoy the Annual Hanukkah Parade of Lights

The residents of Fairmount and Old City enjoyed a festive day, on the fifth day of Hanukkah.

The city held its annual Hanukkah Parade of Lights. There were 100 menorah topped cars that drove from the Art Museum to Logan Circle to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The parade ended at Independence Hall.

"The menorah serves as a symbol of our ability to preserve and encourage the right and liberty of all citizens to worship freely, openly, and with pride," said Rabbi Abraham Shemtov, Director of the Regional Philadelphia Lubavitcher Centers, the organization organizing the parade and lighting.

The event concluded with the lighting of a jumbo sized menorah.
