Families gather at waterfront in Camden for fireworks

People packed the lawn at Wiggins Waterfront Park in Camden for July 4th fireworks on the Delaware.

"So what are you all excited about tonight? The fireworks!" said two little girls. Their family, the Solomon's, made sure they were dressed for the occasion.

"Every time a holiday comes up we just like to get dressed and I love for everyone to dress alike or just go along with the theme," said their mom Priscilla.

The band Cherry Poppin Daddies kicked off the pre-fireworks festivities and got everyone on their feet.

"We come out every year. It's just tradition," said Shaneyce Cordy. She was there with her fiance David and their children. Her youngest, Savannah was also dressed in red, white and blue.

"She is wearing her very own 4 th of July red, white and blue tutu created by mommy, " said Shaneyce. Family night was a tough sell though for her 14-year-old son David.

"I just came along for the ride," he said.

While the theme of the day is celebrating America's birthday most say it's also about family.

"We feel good, we're all together and we're family. We love each other that's what it's about," said Jimmy Solomon.
