Feds: Woman busted with coke in chocolate drink cans

- A woman flying into Philadelphia is in trouble after border agents say they found more than $300,000 of cocaine hidden in an unlikely place: chocolate drink cans.

Tiwanda Rechele White-Pinkton arrived from Montego Bay, Jamaica, back on May 23.

A Customs and Border Protection officer “referred her to a secondary examination” where officers probed two of 10 instant chocolate drink mix cans they removed from her baggage.

They found the cans were filled with a white powdery substance and say that substance field-tested positive for cocaine.

The remaining eight cans also contained a similar substance. CBP officers secured the cans and cocaine, which weighed nearly 10 pounds altogether.

Pennsylvania State Police charged the Upper Darby woman with possession with intent to deliver, criminal conspiracy, and simple possession.

CBP says it routinely conducts random inspections on arriving and departing international passengers. Those searches are for narcotics, currency, weapons, agriculture, and other prohibited or illicit products. Also, on a typical day, CBP seizes more than 9,000 pounds of narcotics at and between the nation's 328 international ports of entry.
